Simonas Dovidavicius

Simonas Dovidavicius was born in 1960 in Lithuania. He graduated from the Kaunus Polytechnic Institute in engineering studies in 1984.  He received the interviewer certification from the Steven Spielberg Visual History Foundation in 1996 and the guide certificate from the State Tourism department in 2002. From 1983 to 1990, Mr. Dovidavicius was a deputy director at the “Banga” company, at the stamped detailed productions department.  From 1991 to 2001 he served as a Tourism manager at Swedish-Lithuanian joint venture “Pentacom” program.

In 1993, he became a member of the Kaunus Jewish Community Council where he works on cultural and educational projects and international relations. From 1997 to 1998 Mr. Dovidavicius served as the Chairman of the Kaunus Jewish Community. He is also member of the Lituanian JCC Council. From 1994 to 1997, he was an assistant to the US Memorial Holocaust Museum, for the exhibition “The Hidden History of Kovno Ghetto”. Mr. Dovidavicius is fluent in Lithuanian, Russian and English and also speaks Yiddish, Hebrew, Polish and German languages

Currently, Mr. Dovidavicius serves as the Executive director of Sugihara “Diplomats for life” Foundation.
